The Tampa ammonia contract price, a key reference for North American fertiliser markets, has fallen for a fourth consecutive month, settling at $555 per metric ton CFR in September — down $80 from the prior month.
This latest decline extends a steady retreat from the $825/t peak recorded in May, when supply disruptions had pushed prices sharply higher. The market has now shed roughly a third of its value over four months.
Ammonia is a core feedstock for nitrogen fertiliser production, and the Tampa price is widely used as a settlement reference in supply contracts across the Americas. Sustained declines typically signal easing supply tightness and can pressure downstream urea and UAN pricing.
